How to not use AI. Or staying sane in a frenzied world

About this talk

Since the advent of transformer models, the cost of being wrong has gone down a lot... That is, if you're just wrong about an experiment you're running or a PoC you're building. But if you let yourself get used to Tab+Accept in your day-to-day, you're not only risking decision fatigue, but also potentially throwing your dopamine response off balance, leading to judgement errors, degrading skill, and maybe even burnout. I'm going to be sharing first-hand experiences and learnings from many others about how they make it work. I'll be pulling in examples from my work, from building a community and conference in Zurich, from mentoring at hackathons with up to 600 participants, and from interacting with hundreds of engineers over the past two years. Let's have an honest conversation about the slot-machine harnesses and what we can do to ensure a sustainable future for our problem-solving brains.
